A Bhanais Ghaidhealach
Some photos from my Blas Festival music commission 'A Bhanais Ghaidhealach' (The Highland Wedding), which combined new compositions, traditional songs, stories and customs relating to Highland courtship and marriage. It was an enormously satisfying, fun and rewarding piece of work, which toured the Highlands during early September 2012 and reprised at Celtic Connections 2013. It was hoped that the Hebridean Celtic Festival 2013 or Mod nan Eilean 2016 would have included it in their programme, in order to take it to the island which inspired it, but unfortunately that didn't happen. We live in hope that we can 'bring it home' one fine day :-)
